Rules/Policies
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your child to the 2008 - 2009 school year, and introduce myself as your child’s Math teacher. I would also like to take this opportunity to explain my classroom expectations and policies.
Classroom Expectations:
- Be RESPONSIBLE!
- Be RESPECTFUL!
- Be READY!
- All other school rules will be enforced.
Consequences:
1st Offense- Warning.
2nd Offense- 15 minute detention
3rd Offense- 30 minute detention, call to parents.
4th Offense- Removal from classroom/administration referral.
Materials Needed Daily:
- Notebook
- Pencil
- Pen
- Homework
Notebook:
Students will be required to keep all class notes, returned homework, tests/quizzes, and assignment calendar in a folder/notebook which will be checked and graded weekly. (A two pocket combo folder with a center clip is highly recommended.)
Homework Policy:
- Homework should be expected approximately four days a week and will be graded the following day at the beginning of the class period.
- Homework MUST be done in pencil.
- You MUST show all work to receive credit.
- NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED! (Exception: Three late homework passes will be given per quarter.)
Attendance:
- You are responsible for getting all missed assignments, notes, and any other work when absent from class.
- You will have the same number of days to make up missing work for each day you’re absent.
- No homework or tests can be made up due to an UNEXCUSED absence.
Grading Policy:
Tests = 40% 90%-100% = A
Quizzes = 20% 80% - 89% = B
Homework/Class Assignments = 30% 70% - 79% = C
Notebook = 10% 60% - 69% = D
59% and below = F
