Biography

Mrs. Sherri Gold-Foreman has worked for Mesa Public Schools for so long that many of Stapley’s parents are her ex-students.  Keep in mind, however, that she does remain extremely young at heart!  After teaching Arizona and World History at Kino Junior High School, Mrs. Gold-Foreman’s career path changed directions.  In 1996 she became a school counselor. She moved to Stapley in 2001.

She has always enjoyed teaching/counseling and her students.  Step Up to Stapley, Team Up for Success, National Junior Honor Society, freshman sports, National Academic League, the 9th Grade Photo Album, the AVID program, the Mentor program, the Taking Charge program, and Ambassadors are a few of the activities in which Mrs. Gold-Foreman has played an active role.  She has also remained up to date with curriculum by teaching 8th, 9th and 11th grade social studies through Mesa Distance Learning.  She has been honored by being nominated for Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers 3 times.

Mrs. Gold-Foreman earned her BA in History from CUNY at Brooklyn College and her MA in Counseling Psychology from ASU. Her educational training extends many hours beyond her masters degree.

She and her husband have 2 wonderful children.  Although she has loved living in Arizona for more than half of her life, Mrs. Gold-Foreman will forever remain a New Yorker, a die hard Mets fan and a visitor to the east coast whenever she has the opportunity.

Mrs. Gold-Foreman’s educational philosophy has been succinctly stated by Kino’s mentor and late principal, Mr. Kirk Hansen.  He often said, “When it’s all said and done, remember, we’re here for the kids.”  Mrs. Gold-Foreman is dedicated to her profession and will continue to “be there” for all of the kids, young and old, at Stapley Junior High School.
