Hello and welcome to Reading! My name is Shelly Riccolo (it sounds like the musical instrument piccolo). I am originally from Illinois. I moved out to Arizona in 1986 and it has been home ever since. This will be the start of my 26th year teaching. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University. I then received my Masters Degree from Northern Arizona University in Educational Leadership. I have a K-8 certificate, a Principal and Supervisor certificate, and an ESL, Reading, and Middle School endorsement. In Illinois, I taught for 2 years. Next, I taught for 14 years in downtown Phoenix. The last 9 years have been spent with the Mesa Public Schools. My family consists of my husband; Brian, 2 daughters; Zoe and Mia, and 3 labs; Cal, Camo, and Bailey. In my free time I like to snow ski, play tennis, spend time at the beach, (preferably somewhere tropical, but any beach will do) read, and enjoy the down time. I am looking forward to having a great year at Stapley with all of the students, parents, and staff.
