Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

Welcome to Physical Education. I would like to take this opportunity to review my classroom expectations so that this will be a rewarding school year for all of us.

 

Expectations:

  • Respect yourself, other students, teachers, administrators,   and equipment.
  • Personal best - EVERY day!
  • SAFE ACTIONS  in the gym, weight room, and on the feild 
  • Be on time and dressed out ready to go!

Description:

Ø      Individual and team sports

Ø      Sportsmanship

Ø      Physical fitness training

Ø      Health

Ø      Reading and writing

 

P.E. Dress Out is Mandatory 

Ø      Grey Stapley P.E. T-shirt with your name on it

Ø      Maroon Stapley shorts with your name on it

Ø      Tennis shoes properly tied to prevent injury

(T-shirt and shorts are available at Stapely bookstore)

However, dark colored athletic shorts (no pockets) with a white or grey short  sleeved T-shirt (no logo) are acceptable. Your name must be on the front of your shirt and shorts.

 

Grading:

 

Students can earn 6 points a day.

Grades will be based on:

Ø      Attendance           

Ø      Participation

Ø      Proper dress

Ø      Class rules

Ø      Unit test

Ø      Article summaries

 

Student are encouraged to complete make-up work to earn points lost due to injury, illness, or other excused absences, the student can complete a one page summary of a physical education/health related topic or make arrangements with teacher.

 

Excused Absences:

A parent note is needed for a student to be excused from activity. If a student needs to be excused for more than 3 consecutive days, a doctor’s note is needed.

 

Homework Policy:

Full credit for homework will be given if handed in complete, accurate and on time.

 

    Tardies:

      Students are expected to be inside the locker room before the bell. Upon thestudents third tardy, a detention will be issued.
