This is my first year at Stapley Jr. High. I am very excited to be moving up to junior high with my students from Madison Elementary as well as meeting new students from other schools.
I was born in Portland, Maine and moved to Arizona just four years ago. I worked in Maine as a teacher for students with autism in an early intervention program. Here in Arizona, I have worked with students with autism in the 3rd through 6th grade at Sousa, Jordan and Madison Elementary Schools.
I received my bachelor’s degree at Hillsdale College in Michigan. I had studied to be a secondary English and history teacher, so when I began working with elementary special education students, I had to go back to school and start my education classes over. I have since obtained a master’s degree in special education, a graduate certificate in autism spectrum disorders, and I am currently a doctoral candidate at ASU.
I have five children. My oldest is attending NAU this year. I have two children at Red Mountain High and two children at O’Connor Elementary.
