Smith Advanced Mixed Chorus (MU12)

The Superstition Sidewinders is the advanced mixed chorus at Smith Junior High.  This chorus of eighth and ninth graders meets daily for 55 minutes and studies scales, triads, intervals, sight-reading, melodic dictation, and many styles of music from Renaissance to Contemporary.  The advanced chorus has consistently received Superior Ratings at the Arizona ACDA Festivals since Smith opened in 2000.  The students also participate in the High School State Solo and Ensemble as well as the High School Regional Choir Auditions.  They perform four to five evening concerts each year and also present daytime school assemblies.
