I am the new teacher for the OI program for the 2009-2010 school year at Stapley Junior High School.

I was born in Hiroshima, Japan, and came to the United States in 1984. I graduated from Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto with a BA in history, and I am certified to teach social studies at the secondary level in Japan. In Japan, I worked with children with autism and orthopedic impairment for three years. After moving to Arizona, I have worked with the special education population as a habilitation provider, as a teacher assistant, and as a substitute teacher for around fifteen years. Meanwhile I took special education courses at ASU as a graduate student and finished the teaching certificate program at Rio Salado College last spring.
