My name is Eileen Bencivengo Mattingly.  I teach in the special education department (MIMD) on campus.  I have a Bachelor's Degree from Arizona State Uvinversity and a Master's Degree from Northern Arizona University.   I am originally from New Jersey.  I have been living in Mesa since 1986.  I have been teaching since 1994 and have been at Stapley Jr. High since 1997.  The philosophy of my classroom is to provide the students with lifelong knowledge, skills and behaviors that are needed to be independent and successful in academics, personal management, workplace, and social skills.  I will do this by using functional academics, supported general education elective classes, foster appropriate social skills, participation in community-based instruction, and by developing pre-vocational/transitional goals.
