Dear Parent/Guardian of an incoming Stapley 7th grader:
We would like to invite your student to participate in a summer program at Stapley Junior High called “Step Up To Stapley”. This unique program is designed to smoothly assist in the transition from the elementary to junior high school setting. The program will run for two weeks, beginning on June 1st through June 12th. Students will attend Monday through Friday from 8:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M.
The curriculum will consist of junior high school expectations and involve active participation, while familiarizing your student with our campus and providing him/her with a solid foundation to begin the 7th grade year. Our focus will be on a variety of subjects like, study/mega skills, problem solving, team building, goal setting, service learning, and physical education. Our approach is to engage the students in an energizing, creative, and memorable way. Step Up will also introduce them to some of the teachers they may have in 7th grade and give them an opportunity to meet over 100 incoming new students from several elementary schools in the area.
If you are interested in having your student participate in this non-tuition program, please fill out the attached application and return it to Stapley Junior High as soon as possible. Due to the overwhelming response to this program, space is limited and will fill up fast. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Priority will be given to students who can attend for the entire 10 days.
