Biography

I have been an educator for 14 years and received my Bachelor of Science degree in English Education from Northern Arizona University. English education was obviously my major and math education was my minor.

I spent the first year of my teaching career on the Navajo reservation teaching math to all of the 7th - 12th grade students at a small BIA school called Leupp Schools Inc.

13 of my years teaching have been spent working in Mesa Public Schools. I spent one year at Rhodes Junior High, five years at Fremont Junior High, and the rest have been here at Smith. I was part of the staff that opened Smith back in 2001, and spent 5 years teaching and was even the English department chair for two of those years. I then went home to take care of my family for 2 years and returned to Smith in the Fall of 2008.  I currently teach 8th grade English as well as 7th grade ELP English.
