Welcome to Shepherd’s Web page.  We are pleased to have another tool, the Internet, to communicate with parents.

We welcome parents onto our campus and value their active involvement in their student’s education.  It is always a joy to students when parents attend concerts, plays, and athletic events.  Your participation at our Open House on September 10, 2009 and Show Off Shepherd on January 28, 2010 are great ways for parents to become involved.  Other ways for parents to become involved at Shepherd is through attending and becoming an active member of our School Improvement Advisory Council (SIAC) and our PTO, both of which meet on the second Thursday of each month at 3:45 and 5:00 respectively. 

To increase their enjoyment of junior high school, we encourage students to be actively involved.  Shepherd has a wide range of activities in which to participate, including clubs, sports, and performing arts.  Student clubs provide students with small personal groups that, for many, provide a comfortable niche.  Clubs are a fun way to learn, serve, and socialize.  Support available to students includes the extended day program, counseling groups, peer mediation, and individually-scheduled parent-teacher conferences.  Each opportunity supports our goals for student success.
