Biography

Suzanne Buffington has taught English for 12 years; this will be her third at Red Mountain.  She has a degree in English from Concordia University in Irvine, California, and a master's in Bilingual/Multicultural Education from NAU.  She is currently teaching sophomore literary explorations and senior technical writing.  Her knowledge base for technical writing came out of three years working in the corportate world; she realized then that traditional writing classes were not completely preparing high school students for today's business field.   With Red Mountain's well established technical writing class in place, she adds her own first hand knowledge and love of technology to the ever-changing curriculum.

Suzanne and her husband Troy live in Mesa with their three children.  In her free time, she enjoys playing with her children, watching college football and volleyball (go Huskers!) and getting together with friends.  She is proud that her family can be a part of the  Mesa school district and her daughter Olivia attends 1st grade at Barbara Bush Elementary, Kaden is in preschool here as a Little Lion, and Blake is 18 months and climbs on anything.
