Welcome to Powell Junior High, home of the Patriots.  This will be my 5th year at Powell Junior High and my 23rd in Education. As Principal of Powell I have seen many changes take place over the last several years.  These changes have benefited Powell students and assisted us in creating a better place for students to learn. 

At Powell we have many programs for students. Powell offers a variety of programs that range from music and athletics to art and academics.  Powell is an AVID demonstration school and is one of two  Mesa schools that host the National Science Foundation, Engineering by Design and Practice program.  

We welcome parents onto our campus and value their active involvement in their student's education.  In order to assist parents we offer classes for parents during the day and evening.  These classes are to assist our parents in better understanding what programs Powell has to offer, what resources are available on site to assist their student, parenting classes and community trends.  We are also in the process of opening a parent resource room.

Another way for parents to become involved at Powell is through attending and becoming an active member of our School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC).  The Powell SIAC holds meetings the second Tuesday of every month (see calendar).  The meetings are held twice a day.  Once at 9:00 AM and then again at 6:00 PM in room 82.
