Biography

       I am thrilled to be able to share the year with your kindergarten student.  I am in my second year at Pomeroy Elementary, but my 29th year as an educator -- most of that serving kindergarten students.  Kindergarten is a special time in your child's life and the grade holds a special place in my heart.  I received my B.S in Elementary Educaton and Early Childhood Education from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana in 1981, my M.A. From Arizona State University in 1991 and have followed up with much post-graduate work.  I began my career with teaching five years of kindergarten in Moline, Illinois, then learned about Arizona by teaching a year of fourth grade in Cave Creek when my husband and I relocated.  Following that, I taught three years of first grade in Mesa Public Schools prior to getting back to my favorite grade -- kindergarten -- for the remaining years of the 29.  For three of those latter years, I served as the Kindergarten Specialist for Mesa Public Schools.  It is a pleasure to be back in the classroom!
