About me.........

My life began in Amarillo, Texas, the setting of one our 3rd grade stories, "The Armadillo from Amarillo."

I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where Mom worked at home and Dad was an electrical engineer for Sandia Laboratories.  He did exciting things like work on atomic bombs and rockets for the space program.  Together they instilled in me a love of learning, and that we are only limited by our own imagination.  I attended Sombra del Monte Elementary School.  It was there that I met Val Holmgren who is now the MIMD teacher for Patterson.  What a small world!

After graduating from Sandia High School,  I attended Tennessee Temple Schools in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education.  During the next years, I raised three children and taught in private schools associated with my husband's ministry as pastor.

In 1990, I began teaching in the public school system.  I taught seven years at Rolle Elementary School in Yuma, Arizona, and then moved to Mesa in 1997.  I have taught at two MPS schools:  Lowell Elementary and Patterson Elementary.  Added altogether, I have been teaching 25 plus years and hold a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Northern Arizona University.  This year I added a SEI endorsement to my Arizona teaching certificate.

Teaching is a passion with me.  It is my desire to provide instruction that will equip students to be successful in future studies and to motivate them to believe that they can accomplish great dreams with hard work and determination.
