Gifted program offers self-contained elementary classes
Irving Elementary School offers a full-day Extended Learning Program for gifted students.
A new educational option is available for elementary students who participate in the ELP program. Self-contained ELP classrooms provide a full-time gifted curriculum rather than the district’s traditional weekly pull-out program.
Students study the regular state standards, but the content process, pace and environment focus on the gifted child’s extraordinary abilities and intellectual potential.
Classes for grades 3-4 and 5-6 are at Irving Elementary School, 3220 E. Pueblo Ave., Mesa, adjacent to Taylor Junior High. Satellite transportation may be available.
Applications will be available in the spring for the 2010-11 school year. For information, call the ELP Department, 472-7248.
