Active Families Day - 10/3/09
This is the first of our monthly Active Families Day events for this school year. Mr. Collins organizes these events to encourage families to get out and be active together. There were over 60 people who attended the first event, and 10 lucky participants received prizes ranging from kickballs to jump ropes, and even a super-soaker! We hope even more families will join us next time - watch for flyers for next month's family hike!!!

Space Shuttle "Lands" at Lindbergh - 8/27/09
Our sixth grade students were provided with the unique opportunity to experience science in action by participating in the Space Integration Module! SIM includes an orbiter, space station and mission control, all equipped with the latest technology.
The innovative approach of SIM provided our sixth grade staff with the tools to deliver a STEM rich curriculum strengthening Science, Technology, Engineering and Math competencies in our sixth grade students.
The Space Integration Module provides an environment where our students are problem solvers, innovators and inventors, applying knowledge in a relevant situation. SIM served as an effective and fun learning experience in preparing our students for the future!

Kids Rock Stars - 1/17/09
Three of Lindbergh's classes represented our school at the annual P.F. Chang's Kids Rock event on Saturday, January 17th. Our P.E. teacher, Mr. Collins, along with Ms. Wilcoxson, Ms. Cattelino, and Ms. Cabebe (with Ms. Nuanez's class) took 44 students to this huge event with over 4000 Arizona students attending. The students each ran a 1-mile course to complete the Kids Rock Stars program, for which they have spent the last several months recording the time they spent exercising each day. Students wore Lindbergh Kids Rock Stars t-shirts (paid for by our P.E. program), and received a medal and other goodies for completing the race. A big thanks goes to the Phoenix Children's Hospital for providing scholarships for our students to participate!
