Mrs. Annie Brown --- First Grade
Annie Brown’s passion for teaching first began as a young child. At 7 years old she would gather her brothers and sisters together and “play school”. She of course, was the teacher. From that time on she always knew that being a teacher was a desire of her heart.
Mrs. Brown has been an educator for over 20 years. She has taught pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade. Mrs. Brown uses Zoo Phonics to excite her students about reading. She uses music, chants, poetry and creative projects as a way to enrich learning. Recently, she learned beginning Sign Language and enjoys finding opportunities to teach it to her young and eager learners.

Mrs. Brown received her BA in Elementary Education from ASU in 1988. She completed her Masters through NAU in 1995. Mrs. Brown was recognized as Mesa Tribune Teacher of the Year in 1997 and Educator of the Month for Mesa Public Schools in 2008. Currently, she is in her 7th year at Las Sendas, and previously taught at Salk and Falcon Hill. She is thankful to have the opportunity to work with a great staff and supportive families. Teaching at Las Sendas is a daily joy.

Annie Brown lives in Mesa with her husband, Lee. They have two grown children, two grandchildren and two dogs, Corky and Dori. Mrs. Brown enjoys photography, digital arts and writing. She loves a walk on the beach and spending time with her family.
