Volunteer Services

Dear Community Volunteer:

We are happy to invite you to become a Mesa Public Schools volunteer. Our students, teachers and administrators greatly appreciate the work volunteers do in our schools and in special departments throughout the district.

The safety of our students is of great concern to us. As you know, the number of reported crimes against children has risen significantly throughout the country. We have chosen to take various precautions to protect our children from adults who might bring them harm.

It is indeed unfortunate that these measures must be taken. However, we know that you will appreciate our concern and understand why we are taking these steps to ensure the safety of our students.

All of our community volunteers are required to complete the attached forms before being assigned to a volunteer position. Volunteers should bring the completed forms, along with the site referral form to Human Resources during the following office hours:

Mondays and Thursdays, 9 am to 11 am, or
Mondays and Thursdays, 2 pm to 4 pm
Note: offices will be closed during school holidays

It is important that each volunteer understands and agrees to our volunteer policies. If you have any questions about these policies, don’t hesitate to call me. I’ll be happy to explain the reasons for them.

If you have any questions about our district or about volunteering, please call me! If you have friends who might wish to become Mesa school volunteers, ask them to contact me. Volunteers do not need teaching experience.
