My name is Carlos Alvarado and I am the principal of Hendrix Junior High.  I have served as the Hendrix principal for the last three years.  This is also my eleventh year with Mesa Public Schools.  The first seven years,  I served as an assistant principal at Red Mountain High School.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my tenure with Mesa Public Schools.

I am an Arizona native and a proud alumnus of Carl Hayden High School, Arizona State University and Northern Arizona University.  As a teacher, I taught social studies.  As a coach, I coached high school/junior high basketball and baseball.   I love my profession and I have been an educator for the last 21 years.

In closing, Hendrix is a great school and I want to thank you for making Hendrix your school of choice for the 2009 - 2010 school year.  It is a complete honor and privilege to serve the faculty, staff, students, and parents of Hendrix Junior High.
