Goals and Objectives
School
1. Assist in promoting a school climate that reflects the feelings of support, empathy, and inclusiveness.
2. Research and implement resources, techniques, and strategies designed to enable and empower the school community in a collaborative effort to provide a safe learning environment.
3. Help establish school and community partnerships that collectively work to carry out the Mission of the Mesa School District.
4. Promote adherence to the Mesa Schools Harassment Policy.
5. Host or facilitate diversity training opportunities for school district students and employees.
Mesa Public Schools Professional Development
1. Develop and/or facilitate diversity training for certificated staff.
2. Attend workshops, seminars and conferences that focus on diversity and diversity related topics.
3. Collaboratively work with professional diversity consultants, educators and researchers.
4. Network with school districts, colleges/universities as a means of locating and identifying additional diversity awareness training programs.
Report to Superintendency/Executive Director of Student Support Services (Guidance and Counseling)
1. Periodic reports to Superintendent/Executive Director of Guidance on Diversity activities and programs.
2. Assist Superintendents/Executive Director of Student Support Services in addressing concerns that are diversity related.
