Elementary Deans of Students
Deans assist the school staff and administrator in promoting a safe and productive learning environment. The Dean will often assist in the training and support of classified staff and support student activities and programs. Many of the Deans in MPS are involved in student recognition activities for honoring students that show excellent character, improvement, and exemplary grades.
The Dean of Students performs duties on campus that support student achievement. The on-time, regular attendance of students is a priority in the daily activity of this position. In addition to attendance, the Dean of Students will often promote best practice study-strategies for students to use in the classroom.

The Dean of Students is often involved with scheduling and planning school wide events, and parent involvement activities. Currently, there are twenty one elementary sites in the Mesa Public Schools that have the Dean of Students position.
