Class Goals and Objectives

            The philosophy of Fremont Junior High School Physical Education program is to promote, through a wide range of educational experiences, a positive learning environment where students can progress physically and mentally while obtaining social values, volleyball skills, and volleyball knowledge.  In addition, physical awareness, life-time sports/recreation and activity appreciation are promoted. 

Curriculum

This course is both an introduction to the fundamental skills and strategies of organized volleyball and a course designed to further develop individual skills for the intermediate player.  Volleyball requires development of the following individual skills: forearm pass, set, attack, block, and serve.  In addition, students will gain an understanding of elementary team strategies.  Students will learn to practice effective communication with teammates.
