Students in a classroom

A child with an empty stomach is lethargic, irritable and not able to participate fully in the learning experience. By providing good tasting, nutritious meals in pleasant surroundings and helping to teach students the value of good nutrition, our school foodservice program is an integral part of the education process.

The Food and Nutrition Department of Mesa Public Schools is a self-supporting arm of the district. We receive no educational tax dollars to operate our program. It is our responsibility to generate revenue to pay for food, supplies, labor, and equipment needed for the various food programs.

Our nutrition program is organized and administered for the benefit of students. Every student should be able to enjoy a well-balanced high quality meal at a reasonable cost. We are a service-oriented business selling good food with fast and friendly service
